Abstract

The present study investigates the transformational impacts of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as technology breaks the boundaries to breed new opportunities as well as new challenges of human-machine hybridization. As businesses increasingly adopt AI technologies to mediate and automate several HR practices including recruitment, performance management,
employee engagement, and personalized employee development, assessing these technologies' impacts on operational efficiency and people experience appears indispensable. Using a standardized questionnaire, and subsequent analysis, this research examines the nexus between AI adoption within human resource practices and improvements in decision making, employee development and engagement. The implications illuminate that AI significantly streamlines HR operational practices via strategic planning and taps into meaningful use of data to personalize employee development. Nevertheless, the study prompts concerns regarding data privacy, transparency and the requirement for developing and upskilling of both employers and employees. The conclusion is that there lies phenomenal potential for AI to transform the field of HR, but for AI to serve as a potential collaborative process, a balanced ethical and human centric approach is requisite.
